A Beneslider is a custom-fitted orthodontic appliance that sits on the roof of the mouth. It uses temporary anchorage devices (TADs)—small orthodontic mini-implants placed in the palate—to provide stable anchorage.
A specially designed wire applies gentle, controlled pressure to gradually move the upper molars backwards.
For some patients, the upper teeth are crowded because the back teeth are positioned too far forwards. Moving the molars backwards can create space for other teeth to align.

Beneslider treatment is particularly useful for growing children and teenagers, although it may also be suitable for some adults.
Most patients find treatment comfortable. Some pressure, tenderness or mild soreness is normal during the first few days and usually settles quickly.
The TADs are placed using a straightforward procedure, and we will make sure you know what to expect throughout treatment.
Treatment usually takes several months, although the exact duration depends on the amount of tooth movement required. We will monitor your progress regularly.
Once the molars have reached their planned position, the Beneslider is removed and treatment continues with braces, clear aligners or another appliance.

In some suitable cases, a Beneslider can create enough space to help avoid tooth extractions. However, this depends entirely on the individual patient’s orthodontic needs, so it cannot replace extractions in every case.
Can adults have Beneslider treatment?
Although Beneslider treatment is commonly used in growing children and teenagers, it can sometimes be considered for adults. Your orthodontist will determine whether it is appropriate following a detailed assessment.
Do I need to do anything with my Beneslider?
Because the Beneslider is a fixed appliance, it works continuously without you having to remember to wear it. You will still need to follow your orthodontist’s instructions carefully and attend your scheduled appointments.
How long does Beneslider treatment take?
